FiTi50 - LET'S RIDE TO CONQUER CANCER
Team FiTi50 has been formed this year with a goal to bring together a minimum of 50 riders to raise research funding for Harry Perkins and motivate me to get through a gruelling hospitalised chemotherapy treatment for Myeloid Sarcoma. Diagnosed in early July, Myeloid Sarcoma is a rare disease that is most associated with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
When my mum passed away in June 2013 from Breast Cancer, the ride gave me strength to find the good in difficult circumstances. Faced now with my own difficult and confronting circumstances I am motivated to cycle 5kms daily on the ward exercise bike, supported by a good diet and a strong positive attitude to achieve my goal of riding this year and ultimately to get the best prognosis.
Once again, I want to create something good for me, my family, friends and others. I am passionate about wanting to raise awareness about the disease, raise research funds and have great fun with fellow riders over the weekend. Support the team however you can – ride, donate $, donate blood, join the support crew.
